Hi, I’m Seth DeGier.
I’m an artist, designer, and photographer drawn to the places where storytelling, identity, and visual culture overlap. Scroll down to hear about how I got started and a bit about my interests.

How I Got Started
My creative journey started in high school when I received a Nikon camera for Christmas. At first, photography was simply a reason to explore and experiment, beginning in my relatively small hometown. As time went on, my camera encouraged me to pay closer attention to the world around me, and that world began to feel much bigger. Before long, the camera introduced me to Lightroom and Photoshop, and photography became a doorway into a much larger creative world.
Throughout high school, I taught myself by taking photographs, experimenting with them in Lightroom, and following whatever idea interested me next. I only knew that I loved turning an idea in my head into something real and visual.
That world expanded again when I joined Moda Magazine in college. Working on editorial shoots introduced me to the many different people and disciplines required to bring a visual concept to life.
It was there that I first worked closely with graphic designers and realized that design could bring together nearly everything I was interested in: imagery, typography, storytelling, culture, and creative problem-solving.
Although photography remained my primary role at Moda, I continued building my skills in Illustrator and InDesign, both by learning from others at the magazine and by teaching myself. By my final year, I was serving as Assistant Photography Director while also contributing to graphics, layouts, and the broader visual direction of the magazine.
Since then, I’ve continued working across photography, branding, editorial design, digital experiences, apparel, and visual identity. I enjoy moving between disciplines and considering not only how something should look, but also how every visual element can work together to create a larger world around an idea.
A Bit About Me
A lot of my creative inspiration comes from the media and objects I grew up around. I’m especially drawn to retro video games, pixel art, early 3D graphics, old technology, and the strange visual limitations that gave older games so much personality.
The colorful worlds of Pokémon, the blocky environments of the Nintendo 64 and GameCube eras, and the expressive simplicity of sprites continue to influence the way I approach both personal art and graphic design.
That interest also extends beyond games. I’m fascinated by the way objects, advertisements, packaging, and technology can capture the visual identity of a particular time.
When I’m not designing or taking photographs, I can usually be found wandering through an antique store, searching card shops, experimenting with pixel art, or taking apart an old video game console to see how it works.
I’m always looking for new ways to combine the things I love, including photography, design, storytelling, nostalgia, and technology, and turn them into visual experiences that feel thoughtful, immersive, and full of personality.
